Initial Oral Examination
At North Washington Dental Group your initial oral examination includes a thorough visual examination, periodontal exam, oral cancer screening, and a complete set of x-rays. These tools will aid in making our treatment recommendations, tailored to your individual needs and concerns. The x-rays that will be included in your exam are: a panoramic x-ray, which is used to assess the jaw joint and entire jaw bone for any abnormalties, periapical x-rays (PA's), for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) teeth, and bitewings of the posterior (back) teeth, for proper diagnosis of any lesions or inter-proximal decay. We only use the latest in digital x-ray equipment from Kodak to insure that our patients are exposed to minimal amount of x-radiation. We also use thyroid protection on our lead aprons.
